Program

Starting from a wildflower gathered from the waters or alleys of Venice, and some small preparatory drawings, each participant will explore a creative process combining monotype, collage, and multi-block printing to create visual narratives inspired by the spontaneous nature growing within the city. Guided by a variety of materials, including papers, found papers, paper bags, and fabrics, we will delve into the tactile and experimental experience of mark making and printing. Participants will be guided step-by-step in learning an accessible and versatile method designed to be practiced at home or in the studio with minimal equipment. The workshop offers the opportunity to develop a series of small, intimate, and detailed works that poetically celebrate Venice’s wild flora.
